Hello, i need advice of how to go about this.
My previous manangment comany in my previous apartment were excellent.
I've just moved to a new apartment and the managment company are based in the same city, i've paid up my charges to year end 2025.
I did not get any building fobs from the previous owner and called the MC (after they sent me a welcome letter) to ask how i go about getting some. They said someone will be in touch and also mentioned i'd be charged for them.
a - is this reasonable? given that all i received from the previous owners were keys, no fobs, they said they didn't have them. I have arthritis in my hands, key access difficult for me.
b - No body has got back to me in 3 weeks since my original call
c - How to i go about obtaining a copy of what their obligations are as a managment comapny?
They haven't even set up an online leaseholder account so i can access any info either.
Any help as to how to deal with this would be appreciated.

a - It seems reasonable to me for the management company to charge you for fobs. It's not the management company's fault that the previous owner didn't give you fobs. Management companies usually get a lot of stick from leaseholders / tenants but on this point I don't think they're being unreasonable.
b - I'm not surprised that the management company are not getting back to you. Chase them.
c - If this isn't detailed in your lease agreement then ask the management company for this information.0 -
I assume you are a leaseholder.Marky4040 said:a - is this reasonable? given that all i received from the previous owners were keys, no fobs, they said they didn't have them. I have arthritis in my hands, key access difficult for me.
Your argument is with the previous owner - who didn't give you any fobs. Not with the management company.
(Looking at it another way - if you don't pay for your fobs, who do you think should pay for them?)Marky4040 said:c - How to i go about obtaining a copy of what their obligations are as a managment comapny?
The lease and the law will specify the management company's obligations.Marky4040 said:They haven't even set up an online leaseholder account so i can access any info either.
Some very large management companies might have online information (or even a portal) - but most won't.
