I am trying to pay into Chase current account. Do I just put in Chase UK in the payee box? My bank is saying it doesn't match with account number.

The Payee would be the name of the account holder.5

The COP check usually only fails if the account is fairly new and hasn't had a chance for the system to update, or if you've got the name details wrong. The name you need to input will be the name of the person who owns the account. You could be misspelling it, or it could be they are usually their legal name and you are putting in the name you know them by casually. If you're confident you have the correct account number and sort code details you can override the check.
