New uPVC window pins catching on frame

The flat I rent had some new windows about 6 months ago and on 2 of them the middle 2 pins (of four total) are catching on the frame when closing. The pins are at the bottom and the window opens outwards (think it's called top hung outward).
When the fitter came to look at it he said that I was pulling on the handle at a downward angle because of leaning over the sink etc and that this caused the lock mechanism in the middle to move down which sounded weird to me as the lock/espag is obviously screwed to the frame. His solution was to hit it with a hammer several times from underneath which briefly solved the problem. A week later it's happening again, not quite as bad but it does leave a black mark on the frame after a few uses.
Can someone explain what is going on here please? Is it possible for the sash (I think that's what it's called) to drop or could it be something else?

Has this issue started from day one or is it more prevelent in hot weather?Rich_888 said:The flat I rent had some new windows about 6 months ago and on 2 of them the middle 2 pins (of four total) are catching on the frame when closing. I have a bathroom side hung window that is in the sun for 6 hours or more in the summer months and is had to close if I leave it open during the day.0 -
It wasn't happening on day one as far as I can remember and it was a bit worse earlier this week in the heat, but not as bad as before the hammer treatment. The third window is unaffected.Boohoo said:
