Scan computer from Amazon - different spec to listing

Options
Ordered this computer which says that it includes an RTX 5060 Ti 16GB graphics card

but the item that arrived only has an RTX 5060 Ti 8GB.

If I click on the item in the order on that page this listing now shows that it's only an 8GB one now

The 8GB card massively underperforms against the 16GB.

What are my rights? Can I insist on them replacing my card with the one I ordered or will I just have to return it?

    You have 3 options OP

Reject for a full refund if within 30 days (although Amazon's A-Z cover might offer that option for 90 days).

Ask for a replacement that matches the specs or a repair (repair would be swap over the part in question).

Buy your own replacement part and claim the increased cost of that part over the one supplied as damages.

Have you messaged the company? If your preference is a full refund that's straightforward, if your preference is keep the PC but get the right part they might be willing to accommodate if it's easier/cheaper for them, they might refuse and you'd have to decide how far to push for what you want.

If they don't help at all and you go for the refund use Amazon's A-Z cover :)

Thanks. Yeah, I've just messaged them. I'd prefer to get the spec I thought I was paying for so will look at either of the last two options.

Scan are in my experience always very good at sorting things. I suspect they will offer to replace, or if you have a reasonable level of competence they will be happy to send you the card to swap out. Wait for them to come back to you, they are normally pretty quick.

Yeah will do. I normally order direct from them and spent a fair chunk of cash on a gaming PC for myself recently.

There is a chance that the ad (for 16GB) was wrong when you purchased it, and has since been updated.  They will either agree to honour the original contract and provide you with a 16GB card, or say "sorry, return it for a refund".  It's a fairly easy solution but may be problematic because they may not want you to pull the 8GB card out to return it, as they sold the PC as an assembled item.  Just have to see what they say, but the main thing is you have a screen shot of your order where the ad clearly states 16GB graphics card

Looking on Scan's website, the difference in price between the cheaper 5060 Ti 8Gb and and 16Gb cards is about £50  (£380-400 vs £330-360).

"Good Afternoon, Thank you for your message. I can only sincerely apologise for the misinformation regarding this listing. We have investigated this with our team, and it appears to have been a typo on the specifications. We are in the process of contacting existing customers with this issue, hence the listing change. To resolve this, we can offer to return the system to us, and we will ensure that the correct card is installed with the 16GB variant. Alternatively, we are also happy to refund the difference in cost, which is £37.33 between the 16GB and the 8GB card. Please let us know which option you would prefer, and I'll be happy to arrange it with you. We do apologise for the inconvenience with this. Kind Regards"

I guess I'll be sending it back so the new card can been fitted.

You can, or you could ask could they send you the card to replace if you feel happy to do it yourself, they may say no, but it would be the quicker and easier option than sending a whole tower.

Would the OP replacing the card themselves invalidate any warranty that Scan might offer?

I've received computers from Scan where they'd taken out the card before shipping to prevent damage to it in shipping. Plus computers are designed to be opened and new hardware put in.
