Morning allIzzy your garden chairs reminded me that the same thing happened to us during Covid. We donated our old suite to a charity and after they collected it we got a message from where we were buying the new one saying that it had been delayed because of Covid. We spent a week or so before and after Christmas and New Year sitting on garden chairs. We bought a blow up one for our DS as he was in our bubble at the time and was coming for Christmas dinner!Needed a new chain for a necklace of mine that broke so rummaged in the jewellery box to see what I didn't want any more and to sell and with what I found and my broken chain it paid for a new one! Trouble is I had to pay out to have my engagement and eternity ring made bigger as my knuckes are getting larger because of arthritis.DS popping in later as it's his birthday today and he's going out for dinner with his mates tonight. The big 4 0 for him next year. My how time flies!Glad to hear you got your money back Ruby. Was like getting blood out of a stone wasn't it. Lets hope your MP shakes a few trees for Rob's sake.Have a good day all x9

Morning all, thanks as usual to @Gers for today's start. The weatherman got it right for yesterday - a cloudy day with a light breeze, a bit of unexpected early evening sunshine and feeling mild. Today we're promised sunny intervals with a gentle breeze, showers possible at any time but more likely late afternoon, temperatures up to 24 deg.
Thanks to the sore hip (a little easier today), I had a gentle pottering day yesterday but managed a bit of decluttering with three items now destined for the CS. I finished three crafting projects too - that pleased me no end - and started a new book called Murder at the Lighthouse (the first in a series of 6, I think) by new-to-me author Frances Evesham.
It being Friday, it's admin day as well as use up any bits from the fridge. There's some pate (on toast for lunch today), a hard boiled egg (egg mayo for sandwich filling for tomorrow's lunch) and most of a tin of chopped tomatoes that's earmarked for a pasta sauce. A general dust round wouldn't go amiss, there's a bag of cleaning cloths/rags to go in the WM and to complete the day I'll browse around t'internet for a new bedspread.
@Gers - Sounds like your garden has been well and truly tamed!
@snoozer - Welcome back, glad you enjoyed your Yorkshire break.
@camelot - Oh the fun of musical beds!
@mehefin - The library performance for the reception class sounds delightful. I hope your follow up appointments go well and that your weight loss is nothing more than general stress coupled with being active because of "busyness". Enjoy tomorrow's village fete (and concert if you go), fingers crossed the weather is kind to you.
@Ruby - So pleased to hear you had a good day with your new lad. Even more pleased you've finally got the money you're owed and that Rob seems to be OK.
Right, duty calls so I'll wish you all a good day, healing wishes for the poorly ones (especially the little ones), virtual hugs available on demand! Take care. X
ETA: Happy birthday to your DS @Chrisca.Be kind to others and to yourself too.8 -
Late one from me!Was awake at 5am and ever actually gave up and went a walk for an hour or so along the river - Barney-dog was in heaven cos it was quiet and he was allowed a swim!By the time I’d had breakfast and sorted washing I decided to vacuum the campervan and have since been cutting and cleaning wood for crafts - and now it’s lunchtime - where did the morning go.Ruby - glad all went well, sounds a lovely home.Derek - Hope all is well but good that they’re tests already organised.Memory already gone so will just wish everyone else a good day
