I've had a leaflet from a company called Consumer Rights, based in Wales, who claim to be able to advise on energy grants and funding via my local council.
Because of their name they're difficult to Google and I'm concerned about scams, the council have responded to my query with an unhelpful "We dont know if this is a scam."

Has anybody dealt with this company or can offer advice please?

If they aren't easy to find on t'interweb, dont have an address, phone number or website on the leaflet then I'd be very very wary. Even more so if they are quoting the council and the council know nothing about them

IMO if it looks dodgy then just ignore it rather than wasting time (yours and others) trying to find out if its kosher.

We really dont want to see you back here in a couple of months complaining that you've scammed.

Should be more clear; the website they have is very easy to find and they have Trustpilot reviews.
However, as you'd expect, a generic search for Consumer Rights creates a lot of results.

There are lots of "middlemen" companies who want to recruit households for ECO4 and get a slice of the pie. A lot of them are chancers, and every few months we get someone posting here about how it's all gone horribly wrong.
I've got no specific info about this one, but the qualifying criteria for ECO4 are published on the government's website. If your council has its own scheme, the council can advise. You don't need a third party.

Instead of worrying about what at the very least is probably a hustle, ask your local council for a list of their approved providers. There should be a dept dealing with this.
