Sainsbury’s gift cards blocked/not activated

I bought a number of Sainsbury’s gift cards from June - September 2024 and when I am trying to use them in 2025 the store have said they are blocked or not activated.
Head office have said I need a receipt for proof of purchase - their CCTC only covers 1 month and they don’t capture digital receipts like other stores such as Morrisons and Booths.
They are telling me they have received no other complaints of this nature (although I’ve seen some similar threads from a few years ago). Has anyone else had this issue in the last 12 months? I would check your gift cards asap, I am losing over £100.

Unless you paid cash then the proof will be for example a bank statement where your debit card transaction will be shown - worth trying to see if this will be accepted0

Yeah, I can tell them the transaction date and my credit card transaction but as you say, it doesn’t show the items bought …and they don’t have digital receipts like some other supermarkets!0
