My wife and I recent purchased a second home (House B ) and paid the additional SDLT.
I looks now as if we will separate; she will live in our home (House A) and I will live in House B.
Can we reclaim the additional SDLT? Who do need to inform?
Thanks

Hi, I recently got divorced and our case was very similar but not quite the same.
When we split up, I bought a new house before the official divorce came through and had to pay the full rate for SDLT. My solicitor said that I wouldn't be able to claim it back, but from posting on this forum a really useful poster told me that he thought I was.
When the divorce became final, and we had transferred the existing house into her name only I applied for the SDLT back and successfully received it about 3 weeks after I applied for it.
I applied at the following website - Apply for a refund of the higher rates of Stamp Duty Land Tax - GOV.UK
The only information I didn't have was the reference code for the payment of the SDLT and I then got that from my solicitor.
