I think everyone assumed that you were planning to rebuild the main house.One issue, a really big one, is planning permission. You could find the council taking enforcement action if you turn an outbuilding into the main building on the site. You might be wise to speak to a planning consultant about this. There’s a fee to pay, but it may save a lot of headaches.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?2

i will check about what planning permission they have on the bungalow when i visit tuesday

Just thinking more broadly, you say that the bungalow is currently classed as an outbuilding even though it has a kitchen and bathroom. Is there any possibility that the council might want to deem it a separate property for council tax purposes?2
