    You can already opt out of either RM or Evri - if you leave both though then the postage cost, regardless of which is chosen, is much cheaper overall.

    I've mentioned it several time but the reduction in postage costs for the buyer has given me a lot of sales on lower end parcel size items that i couldn't shift before.

    Fair enough, but I keep reading threads here and on the eBay forums that say people exclude one carrier or the other and buyers can still choose it etc. It just sounds like a total car crash, and I can't be bothered for the few extra quid I get by not taking stuff to the charity shop.

    I exclude Evri, and I have never had a buyer be able to choose it.

    I suspect it's more likely that ebay will override a royal mail exclusion if the buyer lives in a remote area. AFAIK buyers do not choose the courier, only standard or express delivery. Ebay will then find the cheapest option. If the only option is a courier you have opted out of I believe ebay will override your preferences.

    This is what I saw when I looked at buying a lightweight small parcel item from a private seller;
    "
    Postage options
    Standard Tracked Delivery
    Est. delivery: Estimated between Fri, 25 Jul and Tue, 29 Jul
    Postage: £3.71

    Express Tracked Delivery
    Est. delivery: Estimated between Fri, 25 Jul and Tue, 29 Jul
    Postage: £4.45
    Learn more"

    No mention of who the courier is but looks expensive for an item weighing under 1kg.

    I’ve seen on Reddit that sellers are being notified they have qualified for FAD (funds after delivery) which is basically this.  There are some criteria to meet (£150 of sales and less than 2 disputes roughly) to get this 24 hour payout.
