Nike returns warning

I have returned two items in a week to Nike UK, both via the Inpost locker they provided the code for.
Item one - they said I returned a non Nike item and unless I tell them what the item is they can't progress my refund any further. I told the the item I sent was the football boots they sent me.
Item two - week later via same method. They are claiming the tracking number is not the one they gave me. I have shown them it is via their email and it shows on the tracking item delivered. Nike have said they cannot help me unless I provide tracking for the number they have.
I called Inpost they said they can only speak to Nike who their contract is with.
Nike have told me not to contact them unless I can provide either of he bits of information they have asked for, both of which are not possible as one is the Nike item and the other is the tracking number they provided.
There is obviously something wrong with Nike and their Inpost process. I have had many Nike products and returns over the years and never had a problem before.
I thought I'd share for information as I don't think I'll be getting my refunds.
