Morning folks and thanks GERS. After some sun yesterday we are forecast mostly cloud today but still warm at 23 deg.
My appointments yesterday went well but involved much to-ing and fro-ing so it was a tiring day all round. But that's the end of eye appointments for now, I hope!! And I have never chosen new specs so quickly! I usually have about a dozen lined up with much dithering about which to chose. This time I just had 2 and left it up to the assistant to tell me which looked best. I trusted her judgement and specs now ordered. I can't wait for them to be ready.
Today I am supposed to be meeting DF for lunch but, as usual, this could end up being cancelled. I await her text confirming. I must address a few neglected jobs first which keep getting postponed.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"16 -
Hi all
I’m back! Wonderful three weeks in Northumberland, walked all of the coastal path (64 miles) plus more, campervan was great, much ice cream, sunrise walks with hares playing in a field, lots of sea breezes, and not as hot was everywhere else - that’s a summary!
I did washing and hung it out overnight and of course it’s raining! Had a horrendous night’s sleep so today will be slow pottering of catching up. Bacon and tomato stottie cakes for breakfast 🤤
I have been reading along - hope everyone is ok

Morning everyone, seems a bit cloudy this morning. I was too hot in the night & kept waking.TA- yay happy new glasses at last.Allie, that 3 weeks seems to have flown by, glad you had a good time. You too Camelot and dp1.Well the afternoon tea was lovely, our school friend had gone to a lot of effort, cake stands with neatly cut finger sandwiches with about 5 different fillings, mini sausage rolls etc, & about 4 different cakes and scones with clotted cream and strawberries. The table was beautifully laid and she'd got out her DM old china tea service. Needless to say we never stopped talking as it's been about 18 months since we last met up. One brought some old photos of a school trip abroad, which my late Sis-i-L went on, lovely to see her looking so young and happy It went on a lot longer than BFF and I anticipated, so she didn't get to go and see her brother whilst she was in town but dropped me off back at home.DH successfully picked up DGS
but I didn't get to see him as he ran him to DS2s. He was back by the time my friend dropped me off and he and DS1 had the ladder up at the front trying to get the CCTV working again. They succeeded in the end, & cleaned the lens so things look a lot clearer. He'd had the inside box in to be serviced, they said it was fine, it turned out to be some wires needing attention.
Some pork steaks are out for tea. I haven't had a delivery this week as DH and I called at MrT for some bits. Was quite a bit cheaper as I didn't get as much. I think I have a bad habit of over-ordering onlineTake care everyone:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)17 -
Morning again - I've been out already, it's a lovely start to my day to collect some meds from the vending machine. One of the midge bites I got on Sunday night became infected, all sore and raised and nasty so I went off to the pharmacist yesterday morning. He had a good look and, after a paper exercise, prescribed yet another course of ABs. I'm pretty fed up but needs must. So, another five days of the blooming things. The stuff I collected this morning was a different regular order! On the way home I diverted to the next village down to buy a couple of Glasgow crispy rolls which only come in once a week, I don't normally bother but, seeing as how I was already out, it made sense. The sun is out and the sky is almost all blue though the rain is coming this afternoon. The gardening job which was postponed on Monday is due to happen this afternoon - I don't have too many hopes about it.Welcome back @Allie - I was just thinking about you last night, it's so good to hear that you enjoyed your break. The Northumberland coast is really beautiful, it can be mesmerising, Back to old clothes and porridge now!Well done on picking new glasses @TA, it can be a bewildering task. It's funny how the council can find you when they want paid @Izzy.It your first day with the new client @Ruby? I hope it all goes well and the mum is reassured. My car insurance quote arrived yesterday, it's 50% more than last year. 😱😱 I must phone the company, hope that they have properly recorded that the claim I made last year was a no-fault one, I wasn't even in the car at the time. I did a internet comparison which brought up a few at less than half the quote but I'm wary of them. I've time yet to do a more thorough investigation.Off to have boiled eggs with a crispy roll - my day can't get any better.
I hope that all are doing well, hugs all round.

Morning everyone
Yesterday was a lovely sunny day. and today is forecast to be the same - then it's to be heavy showers from Friday onwards, typical for the start of the school holidays.
Our party was lovely yesterday, I went shopping afterwards and to town for a prescription - I was glad to get home for a sit in the garden.
I've started sorting little one's bedroom ready to paint, I'm getting it over with this weekend as it's a job I really don't like doing!
TA pleased you've got your new glasses organised
Always Allie it sounds like you have had a great time, we have had lovely weather the last few weeks
Right best get on, I hope everyone has a good day x12 -

Morning all
Its a bit overcast here this morning but the sun is due out later it’s not as warm as it has been though which is better for sleep.
Gers yes it’s my first day with my new chap today, although his mum will also come for the first few days until I get to know him better, we are going to his football practice this morning and then I will be going back to their house for some lunch, hopefully we will put a proper plan in place today for going forward - which days I am doing and times etc.
Dinner tonight will be chicken, mash and salad, dd is working a late shift so just OH and I here for dinner, I cooked the chicken yesterday so should be quick to prep once I get in this afternoon.
I am still having trouble getting my mileage for June/July out of Robs mum 😡 I emailed the sw yesterday a very to the point email saying that the family have no intention of paying me and that they are just stalling, she messaged back saying that mum had promised to pay yesterday afternoon- still no payment 🙄 I can see me having a fight on my hands to get it, it’s over £100 but even if it was £2 I would still chase it as a matter of principle.
TA hope the new glasses come soon xx
Have good days all and take care xx

Good morning 😊
Totally jealous of your walking holiday @AlwaysAllie It sounds wonderful. We enjoy our hikes, and are planning on one tomorrow, if the weather holds up. It’s been raining here, this morning.
I can relate to over-ordering online, @RosyRed Watching our budget these last couple of months, has been an eye-opener.
Today is going to be taken up with completing paperwork, which I have been putting off as it’s so boring, but it needs to be done. I have everything gathered together, and now it’s just a matter of filling it all in. I will get it sorted today. First off though, I am going to visit my one neighbour for a coffee and a catch up. That’s become a part of my Thursday routine, and sets the day up.
I am making a chicken sausage casserole with dumplings and mashed potato for the meat eaters. The sausages are already in the slow cooker, but I still need to do the rest. I am having a pigeon pea cottage pie from the freezer, which I made and froze a while ago, so no cooking for my meal today.
Depending on how long the paperwork takes, and if I am not mentally drained from it all, I want to give the kitchen a once over, but we will see.
To do list:
PAPERWORK!!!! ✅Hope you all have a good day 😊14 -
Morning allVery cloudy but very humid too hereJust finished dusting, polishing, hoovering and mopping downstairs and have just got out of the shower as I was 'glowing' after all that. Must do a couple of money things online. One savings account has matured and I've found another one to transfer it to that's better than this one. I suppose they want to know what I had for breakfast etc etc so will get form filling when I've finished my coffeeHave a good day all x12
