Managed migration ESA to Uc and Appointee

I have been appointee for my son’s benefits for years as he is mentally impaired autistic etc.
The migration letter was sent to me as his appointee and I filled it all up online yesterday. I was unable to verify his identity as he doesn’t have a bank account, credit history or anything.

I have received an appointment to verify his identity at the job centre. I have the documents they have requested.
Do I have to try to take him with me (challenging behaviour)?
As his appointee I am responsible for managing his benefits, he cannot engage at all.
Should I ask on the journal or just turn up by myself.

You can ask on his journal for reasonable adjustments to be made.
I think I would suggest what you consider to be a reasonable adjustment for him, in case you can influence the work coach. The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.1 -
He doesn’t need to attend - just you.2

Updating incase it’s useful to someone else in a similar situation
I went to the Jobcentre and the lady apologised that it was an in person appointment saying that it should have been a phone ID check. She checked my ID documents saying that as I was on the system as his appointee, if they verify my ID it automatically verifies his. She offered two weekly payments and an advance. She also said that there would be no more appointments at the Jobcentre.
She thanked me several times for going in.
I hope the rest of it goes as smoothly.2 -

I have to do a similar UC migration for my sister(serverely mentally impaired)but my mother is her appointee. Mum is elderly so does not use the Internet. I am going to set up the UC online but will be with my email etc. As my sister has no ID, I presume they will ID my mum as they have with you?
I may also have a problem with mum's ID as she does not have photo ID?0 -
@Blancmange25, there were many other forms of ID they would accept and if it’s a biographical phone ID verification, it seems they ask questions rather than seeing any forms of ID.0
