Worth ringing around ALL the FastFit places, for a quote, for FULL system & another quote for just the bit thats 'gone'.
Usually it'll be the rear section (back box) & it's worth doing this part on it's own.
If it's in the centre section, best do the complete system.
& if it is the rear, you don't mind getting your hands dirty & lying on your back & cutting through rusted bolts...you'll find that local car parts factor, will sell you the exhast for around 1/2 the fitted price.

I don't know that there's any easy answer. Thought I knew it all the other day when I was looking for a section for my wifes's Fiesta. I called my usual parts place and they gave me a price, it seemed a little higher than I expected. Then I called ATS for a price fitted, it was cheaper than the part itself. I called a few others including another parts only place. I ended up at a local tyre and exhaust fitters. When I was there the parts van arrived with the exhaust. The part came from the place I had called earlier. and I ended up paying £4 less for the part fitted, than if I had bought the part from the company that just delievred it. Madness??
Anyway call everyone in the yellow pages near you and go with the best option. Exhausts are horribly dirty things, the bolts rust like mad, you will also need to get some gasket or paste, and then something will seize itself on etc. Try and get it fitted.NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
If your keeping the car for some time don't buy the cheapest exhaust you can find - they are cheaper because they are not built well and do not last very long.
Two aftermarket exhaust brands that aren't bad quality are Timax and WalkerCover me in honey and fling me to the hermaphrodites!0 -
Have a look in the Yellow Pages for your nearest motor factor. Also have a look under garage services. These places are usually the cheapest.Have your model and year handy aswell. If you're in north Cheshire there are a few good places in Widnes. If it's just the back box don't pay more than 20 quid.0

Have alook in the Motoring section in Travel, Trips andHolidays too.
My other half was looking for an exhaust for his 416 a few weeks ago and someone suggested Viking (Rover spares in Birmingham) worth looking at their website, or for somewhere similar in the yellow pages near you. They didn't fit, but after being quoted £80 my OH bought the exhaust for £30ish and had it fitted for £15 by another garage. Try ringing some scrapyards - they might have one you can take away, or the good ones might evenfit it for you!

Also depends where the hole is, what condition the rest of your exhaust is in, etc.
Just got my BiL's 214 done by Kwik Fit - basically, everything from the CAT back, done for £128.700
