Applied for ESA credits only for my child 22nd April and uploaded sicknote. I then received the capability questionnaire which I sent back 16th June with 20 pages evidence
Posted form for PIP for my child on 6th June with 20 pages of evidence.
I have today phoned ESA for a update and was told that can't help much as everything is with the assessment centre and they will process it.
I also phoned PIP and I was advised that it's been sent to the assessment centre and they will be in contact soon. Ounce a decision. And then forward everything to a decision maker.
Is this the process for both esa/PIP as the amount of evidence I sent I thought it will be paperbased?
Thanks

These things can take a long time, you'll have to be patient. You should continue submitting Fit Notes until a decision is made on the ESA claim.0

The whole process generally takes a few months, at least.
Paper based assessments do happen, but are quite rare. Most people have a full assessment in person, video or phone.
The decision on what type of assessment a claimant gets rests with the Health Assessment Agency.
Apart from some limited PIP renewals which can stay in house with a DWP Decision Maker, all cases get sent to a HAA.2
