Samsung 32T5300 Television . Attaching to stand.Screw do not engage

Options
As the legs are now too big for my new bedside table, on my Samsung 32T5300 television which I purchased from John Lewis on line at the back end of last year Recently I purchased a universal Table top stand .As recommended In the Samsung instructions I brought M4 28 mm pan screws but they do not engage with 4 holes at the back of my TV. I never did like the legs on the TV which I used for a while much prefer a stand which through necessity is now essential. It is too late to return it. Is this a fault or the advice on the instruction for size screws incorrect. Phoned Samsung customer service who were just blunt saying screw size was correct an there was nothing they could do Help and advise please

I think it's a common problem looking around t'internet. You can buy 30mm screws and washers which apparently solve the problem.
Samsung Tv Wall Mounting Screws UE32T5300 T5300 New M4 for 26mm - 28mm TV SCREWS | eBay UK

Or go for a multi pack of various sizes to try .... Amazon.co.uk : samsung tv wall mount screws

    Hope you find a solution.

You need to find out why the screws you bought aren't engaging - are they too small or too big?  If you go to somewhere like Toolstation, they might be able to help.  You basically need to find an M5 bolt and see if that fits.  Or if your M4 bolt is much too small then try an M6.  I don't think there is a tool you can buy to measure the size and pitch of an internal thread, so it might be trial and error.  They don't have to be the exact length either, you can use washers or spacers if they are too long.  Most kits should come with a selection of these anyway

Do they engage if you try to screw them in without the bracket in place?

The length of the screw you will need will depend on the thickness of the plate you are attaching. 28mm may be suitable for a "standard' one but could be too short if its thicker than average etc.

Its a standard universal Table stand which claims to fit all  32 inch TVs. Is seems it is only some Samsung models
that has an issue a fact that Samsung customer service refuse to acknowledge

@DullGreyGuy is referring to the thickness of the mounting plate not the size of screen (which determines spacing of holes)

The issue here is when iI try screwing into back of TV even without any mounting plate etc  and the screws do not engage with the holes. RumRat in post 2 has identified that i am not the only person who as has had this issue. Samsung don't want to know

You can raise this on the consumer rights forum, I suppose, but I think you’re looking for a practical solution?

The screws Rumrat linked to are also M4 size, which implies that you may already have the right size. Can you explain a bit more about what you’re doing when the screws don’t engage. Maybe some close up pictures of the screws and the holes, and the two together?
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

We have experienced the same nightmare
Samsung say I should have checked earlier. We tried to explain we originally set up using legs but wanted to change to make it look neater using a stand to date have not solved the problem. We should have purchased a 32 inch TV. With a stand and not legs. We have spent about £20 trying various screws. Surely there is something wrong here. It would seem from various Places we are not alone here
