Morning folks and thanks GERS. I'm an early bird as I have my final, says she hopefully, appointment at the cataract clinic. Little did I know that these appointments and procedures would drag on for most of the summer. If given the all clear I can then make an appointment for an eye test and, at last, new serviceable specs! And no swapping and changing and squinting for reading, writing, comp work etc.
Well we finally got some rain yesterday at last. The first attempt barely wet the roads but later in the afternoon we got heavier and more prolonged stuff, though not the thunderstorms that were forecast. We now have sunshine and it's forecast to stay day until Saturday with temps on the up again.
Have a good day folks if you can with ((HUGS)) for all in need or want. Take care and stay safe xx

Good morning 😊
I am going visiting for most of this morning. Firstly, to my neighbour across the road, who is in need of a bit of company, then to visit my friend, so there won’t be much done in terms of housework. I do have some paperwork I need to complete, so will focus on that once I get back, so that it’s out of the way.
Dinner tonight is an easy one. Steak and chips for the meat eaters, and a mushroom stir fry for myself. We are going to watch the Superman movie at the cinema this evening, so I wanted something quick to do.
Hope you all have a good day 😊11 -
Good morning
Dull outside after yesterday's rain, it started in the morning cleared up in the afternoon and came back last night.
I went with OH to sort out his recall, it actually only took 10 minutes to replace, very efficient. While out he decided to call into the company that fitted his dashcam as the back camera was playing up. 3 hours later, they couldn't find the problem, a new camera wouldn't pair up with the dashcam, so they fitted a whole new one, free of charge. Brilliant service, but a lot of waiting around, although they kept us supplied with hot drinks. By the time we got home all we wanted was something quick and easy to eat, so cheese and ham toasties hit the spot.
So today will be spent catching up with chores, vacuuming and mopping the floors a priority. Will have a rummage in the freezer for later, maybe pork chops.
Have a good day all whatever you're doing. Take care.

Morning all. We finally had rain yesterday evening and the temperature dropped dramatically.
This morning I'll be helping at the Larder but then the rest of the day is free. The new curtain pole has arrived but I've had to send the curtain quote back for correction; we're in no hurry to get them changed anyway.
I made some cheese and ham muffins for lunch yesterday but cooked them in the air fryer - big mistake! The paper cases weren't supportive enough and they went all over the placeToday will be something and salad...
TA - all the best for your final cataract appointment and hope you can soon have new glasses.14 -
Morning everyone
Cloudy here but the sun is meant to come out later. I'm at work this morning as it's our end of year party at nursery, the children will be even more excited than they were yesterday!
I need to go for some shopping this afternoon, then I'm hoping for a sit outside in the sunshine with Sunday's paper.
Hope everyone has a good day x12 -
Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, hope your dental visit wasn't too expensive.
I'm back from my jolly to The Netherlands - DS2 and his DGF have the most beautiful house I've ever seen, it was like being in a 5 star hotel! I did lots of walking, eating and socialising in some glorious sunshine that wasn't too hot, glad I missed the heatwave here.
Once the flight landed at 8.30am yesterday I visited the allotments and picked a bagful of peas, 8 courgettes and 7 cucumbers from the greenhouse - the neighbours will be avoiding me!
I'm going to collect the little one this morning after I've taken friend's DD to work, some shopping to do then I think I'll take her to pick more peas that she can eat there and then!
Hope your appointment goes well TA.
Good service with your car remmie.
Washing to put out in a while - couldn't do it yesterday as I was too busy looking out the Ark for the torrential rain.
Take care. XX11 -
Morning again - I've been pottering upstairs. There's a drawer full of lotions, potions and unctions most of which are long ODD so past their useful life. I've cleared out a load and ordered new supplies of some. I'm only doing it bit by bit as I get rather bored and then angry with myself for accumulating such stuff. Anyway, more done. The drive down to Glasgow yesterday morning was very swift and lovely, at least until actually in Glasgow where it was raining. Dental appoint was also swift so I was out in 20 minutes. I did a little light shopping and then headed home. On the way I did a short diversion to my preferred CS to unload a bootfull of unwanted items - some clothing, the better towels, a couple of books, a cushion and a plastic storage box. All gone!Today is an open book. I've washed my hair, done my exercises and now on first coffee. Lunch is sorted as I bought a portion of 'yesterdays lasagne' from the Italian cafe which I'll have today with salad. Fingers crossed for a good day as tomorrow is forecasted to be back to rainy weather.I hope that all are well - take care and hugs to all.11

Morning all, what a change yesterdays weather was from recent days, some torrential downpours, much needed, but the sky is blue again this morning with a breeze. The council are out again on the main road cutting back the overhanging branches on the old trees- some of them were nearly meeting in the middle of the road they were so overgrown and it made it really dark on our stretch.Well I am off out at lunch time to go to an old school friends. She has kindly arranged a get together for 6 or 7 of us to 'celebrate' our 70th year. I haven't reached the milestone yet, I just about made it into my school year with 3 days to spare before I would have been in the year below. My BFF is coming to pick me up. DH will pick DGS up from school, so I've sent him a reminder ( DGS, not DH
though one to him might not go amiss
I've got some pork steaks out for tea, not sure if I'll need any after my outing or not. I've had my shower but not done my hair yet, and I'll get changed- wasn't sure what the weather/ temp would be like when I got up so didn't know what to wear yet.@themsthebreaks and @weenancyinAmerica, I used to have shelves full of cook books too, but I have given quite a lot away now and just kept my favourites.Right better do a few jobs before I do get changed. Have a good day all:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)12
