Something occurred to me. When I cancelled the Sky Stream package the guy put me through to Sky Mobile (useless woman I spoke to). I have the IPhone 15 plus handset that I took out in February 2024. I’ve got 18 months left to pay: £31 until January 2026 and then £28 until January 2027, total of £553. Should I not be treating this CCA agreement like my other debts? Will this be seen a preferential treatment by my other creditors?I have no problem letting it default apart from it will extend the time my credit file is shot for, as all others have defaulted (apart from Next, which is very close). If I did default, what would happen to the handset though!? Could they blacklist it?Just edited to add I have a free SIM with the handset but have never used it.0

No, they can block the sim card for non payment, but not the phone, you simply put another sim card in it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. Its up to you, if you can afford it, keep paying it, if not, default and add to your DMP.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Debt free wannabe, Credit file and ratings, and Bankruptcy and living with it boards. I've never had mobile phone insurance. On the one occasion I needed to claim for a damaged phone (which my cat had helpfully shoved into a mug of piping hot coffee!), it was covered by my home insurance policy, which paid in full for a replacement.
