Hi all. I'm looking for a spreadsheet whereby the home can have a monthly budget for, say, children's food, and whenever they go shopping, they enter the amount spent and it draws down against the budget so the manager can always see what is left. Is anyone aware of such a thing?

That sounds like a standard spreadsheet with suitable formulae...1

I'm not an expert on Excel so I'm hopefully looking for a template I can adapt?Even if you are a minority of one, the truth is the truth.0

Is it a care home that is part of the local authority, or a private company because generally speaking they would already have software in place for you to use?
because presumably there would be other categories that you also need to monitor, such as utility bills, recreation etc?All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.1 -

Have you got access to Microsoft Excel? Microsoft do a lot of free templates and I'm sure there's one that would be suitable.1 -

Honestly, I’d be chucking this one back at the owner. If they want the manager to do a half decent job then they need to provide the tools for you to do so.(Ex/care home manager here.)All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I can appreciate your comments Elsie's bit it could also be in Flyer's interest to propose this or show initiative, as examples. If a small cost is available then one such as https://www.excel-skills.co.uk/petty-cash-template.php?sesreq=1315296202507151941&ctime=1752608523 could well be suitable with minor changes.
