how long was the warranty given by the trader?
what did the trader say when you took the car back to them to be repaired?
why did you pay £600 without letting the dealer try and fix?0 -
What condition were the pads/discs/callipers at time of seizure / replacement /
Did the mechanic who repaired them have any comments about the job.
As a "wear" item, they would most likely be excluded from any warranty.
Have you visited the Trader to discuss ? Calls are easy to make and easy to ignore.Mortgage free

The warramty company will declare anything to do with the brakes to be "wear and tear".But consumer rights are and warranties are completely separate things. Garages hand out aftermarket warranties to distract you from your consumer rights. If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.1 -
How did the brakes "seize"? For a £600 repair, I'm guessing it was a sticky caliper that wouldn't let a pad release?
What age/price of vehicle are we talking about?1
