UKPC DCB Legal court claim 2025

Options
Hi All, i am new here! Hoping someone can help

I have just received a court claim regarding 21 PCN's in 2023 - from DCB Legal . For parking in a sainsbury's carpark and not paying.

To be completely truthful i was paying at the start, as i would park monday to friday, then one day the machine was not working so i continued to park without paying. 2 years down the line i now have a court claim to recover just over 3k

Probably a long shot, but would there be a way around this? Although in part yes i take blame, i cannot afford to pay this.

I have called DCB legal and they can only over a 5 month payment plan, which means i would have to pay over £700 per month.

I am happy to pay but i could only afford if smaller monthly payments. Ideally i would like to see if there is a way of getting out of it

Claim issue date is 8th July 2025, so a few days in already, and not sure what to do

Thank you for your time in advance

No - my friendly solicitor contact only does cases for vulnerable people who need help.

This one looks like bilking, 21 times.

We cannot and do not condone that.

However, nor do I condone 21x a fake added £70 DRA fee (with the capped legal fee added as well = £1500 to enrich DCB Legal is a complete no-no in my book).

The OP just uses the template defence.

The OP then engages in the usual court Mediation but makes an offer.

NOT FOUR FIGURES STARTING WITH 3, OBVIOUSLY!

Come on, you are NOT 'happy to pay' such an extortionate claim!

DO NOT SAY THAT ON THE PHONE TO THE MEDIATOR.

Even if they won in court hearing that
    would be less than £2300.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Definitely not

You should follow the advice in the second post in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum by coupon mad,  then when the AOS stage is completed on MCOL,  you should adapt the template defence by coupon mad,  again in announcements,  at the top of the forum

@Gr1pr thank you! I see that it explains what to do with a letter before claim, however i have received an actual claim form. Does the same apply (sending an email to parking firm solicitor)?

    The Newbie post says:
PLEASE NOTE THE ABOVE IS THE ADVICE TO RESPOND TO A LETTER OF / BEFORE CLAIM, THIS IS NOT WHAT TO DO IF YOU ACTUALLY HAVE A CLAIM FORM

Sorry if i am being stupid, and thank you everyone for your help on this

Scroll to the correct section,  below what you read

You'll probably get a court claim (no worries - scam soon over, no risk) and we have a Template Defence that works - MOST CASES DO NOT EVEN MAKE IT TO A HEARING.

If you get a court claim, don't panic, c99% of defendants here, win!

See the post above yours, it explains that AoS has to be completed and there is a walk-through showing you how to do that.  Then on to the defence using the new template.
