APCOA Penalty Notice

Hi all,
Sorry I can’t find anything fitting exactly my situation. Back in May, my dad (who I don’t live with) received a penalty notice addressed to him (definitely a penalty notice, nothing else) from APCOA - so we disputed it as it was a railway car park that turned out to be shared ownership between apcoa and ringgo but the signposting was awful and so I paid using ringgo which was apparently wrong (I was driving but he’s the keeper and we didn’t supply the name of the driver or say anything beyond that the keeper of the vehicle wasn’t the one driving). Due to unfortunate circumstances (the postmen not knowing the difference between addresses) my dad didn’t receive the rejection letter until wayyy too late so the POPLA code to appeal again ran out. We sent an email of complaint but no reply so far. Today I personally received this text - does this mean they now somehow have gotten my details? I can only see info about debt collectors/apcoa sending post, haven’t seen anything about texts and he’s just getting really worried/stressed etc.

Sorry if this annoys anyone but I’ve read through the newbie thing and I just want to make double double sure we can just ignore this0

you can just ignore it - but you will get a Letter before Claim at some point.
In your initial appeal - did you say who was driving?2 -

The APCOA Penalty Notice is genuine. The text message you've received is purely coincidental; it is a scam. Just put its text into Google and read results. Then ignore it.As you seem to be beyond the APCOA appeal stage, just ignore the Penalty Charge. Come back on this thread in the unlikely event you get anything further from them. Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
