Query Scottish Friendly Policy Maturity

Can anyone who has recently claimed their policy payout on maturity from Scottish Friendly advise whether you did have to send in your original policy document. Letter and forms said yes but customer care (who also stated they didn't know how each policy worked) stated that I did not have to.

Personally I'd be governed by the written word. If you don't comply with the form. Then odds on it will be rejected.1
