TravellingAbuela said:YL I didn't know about the Priority Service register I shall look into that. Although I would expect some black looks from anyone watching me hosing everything when they were struggling with their watering cans! X
I can't remember when I registered (probably ages ago) but the letter can be used as proof of exemption should anyone question your actions.Be kind to others and to yourself too.7 -
YL I filled in the form and now awaiting e-mail confirmation. I am obviously not very observant as it's there in black and white on my annual water statement!! x"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"8

TA - You could always say you couldn't see it before you had your cataracts done!
Joking apart, I hope you get a positive response soon - lugging heavy watering cans around is no fun at our age.
As more regions come or are likely to come under a hosepipe ban, it might be worth others checking what their water company classes as an exemption. I should imagine they all have different criteria.Be kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Hello everyone
Late one from me...we've had rain all day but the sun came out 5 minutes ago...bit late now! Wet for most of yesterday too with absolutely torrential rain at finishing school time...I was picking up little one...the kids were loving it but not the adults!
It's our last week of term this week so there seems to be a lot to do, tomorrow morning we have a party then assembly in 'big school' on Thursday afternoon, then a nice early finish on Friday.
I had a lovely weekend with little one...she helped me put the paddling pool up on Saturday morning and spent most of the afternoon in it, while I alternated between pottering in the garden and sitting in the sunshine. She's beside herself with excitement as she and DD are off to Butlins at Skegness on Friday for 10 days.
Right I'm going to get my dishes washed x5 -
@themsthebreaks - I love to read cookbooks. I don't actually cook - I just love to read and can imagine making the dish. I have about 300 cookbooks from World War II as well as about 500 in addition. I give them away very slowly - just a couple at a time. When I was in a women's group years ago, a friend there and I used to laugh about having a Cookbook Anonymous Group similar to Alcoholics Anonymous - only when you had the urge to splurge, instead of talking you out of it, you all got together and went shopping for more.7

I love reading cookbooks too @weenancyinAmerica and thinking on how the recipes can be adapted to suit our dietary requirements. I do use Google a lot when looking for recipes, so many of mine haven’t been opened in a while, but I didn’t donate any yesterday, they’re all still sitting on the shelves. I do need to make space for two recent additions I bought a few weeks ago, though.
How fun your idea of a Cookbook Anonymous Group would be, all converging on a book store to peruse the cookbooks, and holding a fresh one in your hands, deciding which to buy - and how many. A wonderful way to spend an afternoon.6
