Morning all. I'm off shortly down the road for an early dental appointment so won't be BRB. I hope that everyone has a good day.

Morning folks and thanks GERS for the very early start. Safe trip.
Yesterday's forecast for thunder storms didn't happen so I had to resort to the watering can after all. Although why I bothered I don't know as everything looks sadly neglected. Yet the weeds are still shooting up in abundance! We are forecast the storms yet again today so will they or won't they happen! It's bed change day so I may just festoon it all upstairs as it's sure to rain if I waste my time hanging it all outside. Blooming unreliable weather!
Have a good day all if you can with ((HUGS)) for all in need. Take care and be safe xx

Morning all, safe trip Gers.TA & Izzy, yes we've had some heavy rain already, I might save the washing until tomorrow, it's meant to be better here.Had a nice visit at our friends yesterday afternoon before going for DGS, it's on the way but when we set off & reached the main road to school it was jammed,& I only had about 3 mins to walk up the long path before the bell went. I managed to trip up full length, and my phone went flying. A kind gentleman helped me up- I was just glad there weren't too many people around.Bruised my hip a bit, but didnt graze my knees or hands- no blood drawn anyway. Least there weren't any brambles @TravellingAbuela! & my phone was undamaged!I need to call up at the retail park to get a thank you gift for the old school friend who is being hostess tomorrow .Apart from that ,the day is my own, and no watering
I did the new pots & hanging basket at DS2s yesterday when we dropped DGS off.
I hope you all have a good day:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)10 -

Morning all
We are due rain and winds today the sky is looking very dark and it’s a lot cooler, I was actually chilly in bed last night.
I have my two people coming today and we are going to meet our friends and go bowling and a McDonald’s which we haven’t been able to do for a while as poor Rob had no money, I am still payment for my last mileage claim of over £100 that family really are toxic!Dinner tonight will be gammon egg and chips, dd is off today so she will probably cook, I need to do a meal plan and shopping list tonight too and I will do the shop after the hospital tomorrow.
Gers safe trip xx
TA what a shame that your week away was not a huge success xx
Have good days all and take care xx8 -
Good morning, safe trip Gers.
Rain is forecast for today, the garden certainly needs it. Yesterday was dull and humid, but a lovely breeze started in the afternoon which was very welcome. A cooler night too so better for sleeping.
DH has a recall on his car, so is taking it to the dealer, it's for the airbag to be replaced so should only take 15 minutes, so they say. I may go for the ride, it's in the next city so a few miles away. I'll only be indoors anyway.
Not sure what to do for dinner, last night was steak and ale pie, mash and veg. Plenty in stock so will see what we want later.
Nothing else happening, so I'll bid everyone a good day. Take care.10 -
Morning all. Definitely cooler today and a bit breezy; the bathroom door has already blown shut because I had the window open. No rain here yet.
I have my physio appointment this morning and will then deliver 6 bags of coat hangers to a local charity before coming home for lunch. I'm going to make some savoury muffins, as I have spring onions and a bit of ham to use up.
Quiet afternoon then an early dinner as I'm giving a friend a lift to Morris tonight, as both our sides are out dancing together.
Happy Tuesday everyone.11 -
Good morning 😊
I went to bed just after nine o’clock last night, and slept through until six-twenty this morning. I didn’t even wake up for the wee, so must have needed it.
It’s been a slow start to the day. I’m on my second coffee, but will make a move once that’s finished. I plan on making garlic, lemon, and herb butterbeans, and Mediterranean baked chicken for tonight’s dinner. The dining room needs a good clean, and I want to start going through all my cook books. I have so many - more than I will ever use - but, I am torn between donating to the charity shop, or keeping them. They take up two waist high bookshelves of three shelves each. I do like a good cook book. I also need to put the washing away from yesterday. It was folded, but then left on the dining table, as I was tired by the time I bought it in.
I’m going to the local pantry this morning, but other than that, I’m home bound.
Fingers crossed it’s not an expensive dental visit @Gers
Hope you all have a good day 😊11 -
Morning all, thanks for the start @Gers - good luck with the dental appointment today.
After some overnight rain, it was sunny first thing but is now drizzling and thundery showers are forecast for later in the day. Temperatures are down to about 18 deg, somewhat cooler than of late, but definitely better for sleeping.
Sunday's BBQ was very enjoyable with guests ranging in age from mid-70s (me) down to a couple of toddlers. DS had already fore-warned me the Brazilians are very sociable and to expect hugs from strangers (yes, they did), they are loud (yes, they are) and the men will take over the BBQ cooking (yes, they did), expertly done too. The food was lovely, albeit a tad meat heavy, but there were plenty of other meat-free side dishes as well as a chocolate cake to finish with. I stayed overnight and, by the time DS had deposited me back home late yesterday afternoon, I felt I'd had a bit of a mini break.Sadly nothing as exciting today, just the usual daily tasks.
@TA - I'm so sorry your week away was a let down; hopefully next time will be better. Are you on the Priority Services Register with Yorkshire Water? (I am and had a letter from them last week about the hosepipe ban.) If you are, you're exempt and don't have to lug the watering can around (although they obviously want people to be mindful of the water they use). Those who are registered disabled or a Blue Badge holder are also exempt.
TTB - Wow, that's a lot of cookery books!
Have a good day all, take care, have a virtual hug if you need one. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.11 -
YL I didn't know about the Priority Service register I shall look into that. Although I would expect some black looks from anyone watching me hosing everything when they were struggling with their watering cans! X"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"8
