Hello everyone
Unfortunately, I need to replace my conservatory roof as it’s leaking. It’s quite a big conservatory 6 metres by 8 metres and it was erected by the previous owners..
im interested in cosy roof as they seem to have great reviews but one of our local companies has dismissed them completely and said they will simply use the current structure and put a roof on top of it and that’s why they are so cheap!
is that correct? Personally, I think our whole roof needs to come down. It’s a glass roof and replaced?
can anyone shed any light on what cosy roof actually do ?

They will take your old roof off first. What the other company meant was they use the existing walls.0

Phew! Thank you. Have you used them before? Would you recommend them? Thank you0

I haven't used them myself. I just looked on their website. You would have to remove the old roof, but I just had a quick look at their product out of interest.0

Same size conservatory as ours. Get a quote first. Ours was polycarbonate and we had it replaced with a tiled roof which is much more efficient - it's now cool in the summer and keeps much more heat in in the winter. Ours was £5k including the insulated ceiling and plastering. The electrician was an extra £400 to fit spot lights.0

Don't be under the illusion that big companies with flashy names will do a better job. Some of them might charge a fair price, but many will not. For example, our flat roof was leaking. We got a company in called Eco Roofing for a quote; they said the entire roof needed replacing, and the adjacent velux window, and all of our front fascias. They quoted £5k. We got two separate local guys around and they both said the work was totally uneccesary. We chose this guy because first impressions told us he was honest. He charged £1k for the lot. Excellent job, trouble free since having it done, and he explained all that he'd done and got us up on the roof to inspect. And don't look on Checkatrade. My friend went with a company recomended by that site and they were cowboys; criminal case still ongoing regarding asbestos. Their kids are now on life-long hospital monitoring because of it.Go to a trusted local person/family business that come with real word of mouth recommendations0
