Hi everyone,
I have now had the claim form through the post. It has a defence form. Does anybody have any tips on how to put the defence together?0 -
No need for tips or a form.

Draft paragraph 3:
3. I was not notified of any parking charge by letter, until DCB’s self-imposed time limit for appeal had expired. The original letter may have been sent to an old address, despite my V5 details being up to date for several years. At the site in question, signage is small, sparse and not visible from where I parked. The bay shaped space I parked in appears to be a parking space, and there is no indication that it is not. Signage in this area appears to be deliberately sparse to ensnare drivers.
does this seem ok?0 -
A defence is written in the 3rd person, no I etc
Study a few other recent cases on here, especially any similar to yours
Post the Issue date from the top right of the claim form below and also post a redacted picture of the POC from the lower left of the claim form below after hiding the VRM details first
I suggest that you change your thread title to something more suitable like

Detail of the signage - there is no signage on the shop side, so it is very unclear
Totally agree about the lack of signs. This is the area they deem not to be a bay (not my car - somebody else getting a ticket!)
Typical trap of a bay that is somehow 'not a bay'. No signs or surface markings v there at all in front of Subway.
Did you get a windscreen PCN or a postal one? Show us.
Hmmm... I don't think the white car is getting a ticket at all...
EDIT: I see you took that photo in July 2025, as proved here:
It's just that Google Streetview seems to show the exact same car, in exactly the same spot. a year ago:
If you took that pic this year, it looks like we have evidence they are planting a decoy vehicle there to entice others...
Please show the metadata from your pic as I want to show this evidence to the Government.
Are you local enough to go back weekly or so and quietly (unseen) catch this car again and again?

I can get back there periodically yes. Picture was taken 3rd July this year. It was a postal pcn which I received , but the original document went to an old address, so I never received it (I believe that this is deliberate - my v5 has been up to date for years). The first I knew of it is the letter which I attach here which states no right to appeal. Despite only two months having passed since I parked, the letter has now come to my correct address l. I see no reason that they would have inferred that I hadn’t received the letter and then done the address search - it is far more likely that the original pcn was directed to where I would never see it1

If your V5 is up to date, they can't have sent it to an old address?PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
