Teacher's Pensions Transitional Protection Payment
Comments

I retired in April 2022. I am still waiting for my RSS too. I have made a Freedom of Information request to Teachers' Pension, asking how many retired teachers have received their RSS to date and how many TP staff have been allocated to work on Transitional Protection cases. They have replied that I have to contact the DfE for an FOI request.
Is there any collective group putting pressure here or is it still down to individuals asking their MPs for help? I now live in France, so don't have a UK MP to help me.

hi, I retired in 2021 and still waiting an RSS as many thousands of teachers are.
I’ve undertaken an foi last month with tps for numbers affected. Numbers are shocking. My local mp has been supporting me with my rss statement and they have been fobed off with the the same diatribe of ‘working at pace, complexities of case etc etc etc. total joke !
From research I believe leighday solicitors took out a class action ( not sure for what action exactly though) which was closed to new requests.
I’m not aware of any other class actions being taken, but I think this is the only way that this scandal will be resolved. If you haven’t already check out the posts on schoolsweek regarding their thoughts on why RSS probably aren’t being sent.

The RSS issue has popped up again on schoolsweek 16/4/2026 and seems to of been raised with the government education secretary. Unfortunately it seems the TPS line has been followed.
I truly wish on behalf of the many thousands of colleagues who are affected by this scandal Martin Lewis would run a piece on his TV program; maybe then the TPS / government would make an effort to resolve this.

NOW 31 MARCH 2027 for rss statements to be delivered !
Joke doesn’t come close !!!!

“The regulatory timeline for issuing Immediate Choice RSS packs was 31 March 2025 and the original aim was to meet this timeline. However, due to the complexity of the calculations and some prolonged work to finalise policy elements of the remedy, not all Immediate Choice packs have been able to be issued by 31 March 2025. The legislation for the 2015 Remedy provides discretion which allows the Scheme Manager to extend beyond this date. The Scheme Manager has invoked this discretion and has extended the timeline for issuing Immediate Choice RSS packs to 31 March 2027. The Pensions Regulator has been notified of this extension. Our priority remains to provide you with all the accurate information you need to make a choice. It can be noted that other Public Service Pension Schemes are also in a similar position.”
