Scam alert for Verona-Amour London

Options
Hope this is in the right place. Just to share that Verona-Amour London , advertising probably AI generated photos of lovely clothes on Instagram and Facebook is actually selling total knock offs from China. Ordered two dresses which are so 'not as described' , it's ridiculous. But the company offers free returns to a London address. The return address is actually in China and the buyer has to pay postage. There are also stringent refund criteria designed to trip up the sender, eg, labels must be attached (no labelling at all used in the first place) use orginal packaging and use the original carrier (YUN Express ?) to China. What could possibly go wrong,  apart from the cost involved. Trust Pilot have about 30 1* reviews all confirming the same. Also their 5* reviews are written by people giving 5* reviews to similar companies (eg FlorencenandMae London , Luxe and Luna london) with one having exactly the same return address in China. Thankfully I had a refund from my bank. It's disgusting these scammers are getting away with it. I'm naive to this world. May be there is nothing anyone can do, but at least I've made the effort to share. Von Schmid E-Com Ltd. trading as Verona-amour London.

Biggest giveaway is their T&Cs specify that the legal jurisdiction is the United Kingdom... only thing is the UK is made up of 3 legal jurisdictions not 1 but these companies in the far east dont know this.  When targeting the US they make the same mistake as each state is its own jurisdiction.

So you did a chargeback with your bank? How long ago was that?

The normal process for chargebacks is you get the money refunded up front but the case is then assessed inc comment from the merchant (whose money is actually taken). If it's not upheld the money is then taken back from your account. Dont know which category of chargeback it went in as but they will typically fail if you haven't actually returned the goods

TBH, from looking at many of these sites, both as reported here & on social media. Any that carry a UK town/city name. Have nothing to do with the UK.

has quite a bizarre name for a clothing company.
