Parking ticket help. DCBL

Hi. We received a parking ticket at monks cross in York. The parking time allowed was 4 hours but we parked for 4 hours, 10 minutes and 23 seconds. It's a huge car park and takes a while to park and leave. I have heard we might be all 10 minutes grace time so we appealed the fine but we're quickly notified that the appeal was dismissed. We haven't paid the fine and have just received a notice of debt recovery of £170.

I've attached the notice. I can't upload it for some reason. I'd be grateful for any advice.

There was no fine, just an invoice from the parking company ( G24  )  for the alleged breach of the parking contract on that private property

The grace period at the end of an authorised parking period I'd a MINIMUM of 10 minutes,  so it seems to me that you may be receiving demands because of the extra half a minute,  so you would likely win any future court claim , especially as they're likely to chicken out during the claim process

Ignore the powerless debt collectors letters

    It's not a fine.
