Voluntary termination - Alloy wheels - Fiat 500e

Hi all
I am trying to find recent information on VT of PCP. I am returning my car at the end of this week and wondering if it is better I repair the alloy wheels myself or leave it to the finance company?

Does anyone have any recent experience?
I have scratches and a little chip on one of them and others have scratches but nothing too extreme. I know they are above the 50mm and will incur charges but wondering whether it’s best to leave it to them.
I was quoted £390+vat at a local repair as they are diamond cut.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Just do a DIY repair using plastic padding and touch up paint, then drive through some puddles before returning the car.1

Could you actually get them done before the end of this week is the first question? Don't the Ts&Cs tell you what the charges will be for the scratches will be?1

Most finance companies will have a sliding scale for damages.
They won't get a quote to repair damage, just charge you a "fair" fee for it.
With wheels it usually depends on the size of the rim.
They will obviously charge more for bigger wheels than smaller ones and diamond cut ones might be more again.
Not many finance companies publish prices because they are likely to change, but they do tend to reflect the industry repair prices.
As I mentioned, they need to be fair, industry prices.
They can't get away with over inflating the damage prices as they have no real intention of repairing the damage and they will get contested with the FOS like this one:
Decision Reference DRN-4263699
So you might gain a few quid if you repair them before hand or you might gain a few quid if you leave them as is.
If it was mine, I just wouldn't want the hassle of dropping it off and collecting it along with being without it for so long, so I'd take the chance and just hand it back as is.1 -
Thanks all for your responses.Car got collected today and as expected all 4 wheels were charged, however at £60 each.
Repair was quoted for £90-120 per wheel so good thing I didn’t repair them.Car is way under mileage though so I will try to dispute the charges anyway.I also had paint work done of the back bumper through the at faults party insurance which the inspector said I can dispute as well.0 -

skol1003 said:Yes, it said paint run on the report, which was charged at £113. There was small part on the edge of the bumper. But as it was done through third party insurance hopefully will be fine to dispute. It will be more trouble to dispute than just paying £113.Your financier doesn't care who did the work, only that work you had done on their car is substandard, so it is on you to pay up.As the work was done by third party insurance you will have to chase the third party insurer for the money, and good luck with that you have no contract with them, and accepted the work when you didn't complain withi a short time of collecting the repaired car..If it was done by your own insurer, then you have a contract with them, and can pursue them about the substandard work done by their repairer.
I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....
