Bargain roadside plants
Options
Stopped at one of those "plants for sale" signs by the roadside. Now I'm not exactly an inexperienced gardener, so I mainly bought these three (£2 each) on the basis that I didn't know what they were so they might be something unusual.
I think "? SORRY" is Polemonium pauciflorum "Sulphur Trumpets", and "Lysimanchia White" is Lysimachia clethroides. But "Pe...everlasting" and little white felty papery flowers is eluding me! Any ideas?

Also, I'm not unaware that anything people have enough spare of to put some out for sale by the roadside is likely to be somewhat over-vigorous! I've got plenty of space!1

Not always. I got a beautiful dark blue iris and lots of other stuff this way.
When I started gardening I would buy mystery plants from the WI shop. I love the mystery of not knowing what I would see the following year 🙂
It was fun amid all the grind of maintenance.
Think the papery whites may be the ones we grew 50yrs ago when everlasting flowers were all the rage.
Good now for fashionable door wreaths.
We didn't have phone apps then or tinternet . I think it made life more interesting than knowing everything immediately.
Enjoy what you have and let us see next year how they look. There may be a treasure in there 😀I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!
viral kindness .....kindness is contageous pass it on
The only normal people you know are the ones you don’t know very well

I don't think it's Latin that's escaping the vendor's mind. It's the spelling of 'Pearly.'Pearly Everlasting is Anaphalis margaritacea, or possibly Anaphalis triplinervis. Both are desirable IMO."There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity2

Google lens does a pretty good job of telling what you have from a photo. Although I sometimes have to have multiple attempts, when it tells me that something usually grows in the Amazonian rainforest or similar ...Signature removed for peace of mind0

"Looking it up," additional to taking the plant piece, potting it, and then growing it on, might be rather much to expect for £2."There is no such thing as a low-energy rich country." Dr Chris Martenson. Peak Prosperity1
