eBay Seller Invoicing

I have always invoiced my customers following a sale, it gives them a record of the transaction and gives me the chance to add a welcoming message and/o r information on future listings they may be interested in. Following the introduction of simplified postage (sic), this seems to be up in the air. Just received a message after attempting to send an invoice - quote " Invoices cannot be sent for items where eBay manages all or part of the postage " end quote. Is this just a one off for this particular customer?

The ability to invoice was lost a while ago, it is completely automated now with eBay sending the original invoice and reminders. 

Once you have a sale though you can message your buyer but be careful with wording so that the eBay bot doesn’t consider you offering an off eBay sale. Remember as well that if the items are simple delivery then you can’t combine postage, only eBay can.
