After 6 months of chasing, I have not received an explanation about the quality of the products I had purchased, I have to jump lot of hoops and no explanation). Instead I was offered a refund and I do not want to use their third party, Candex Support to process the refund as I am uncomfortable with sharing my details.
Am I entitled to ask for a cheque ? how I would like the refund to be paid to me?

Normally refunds are processed to the original payment method, so what details did you share with them to pay?0

It's not at all clear to me what your grounds are for seeking a refund from Candex. The reason is critical in consumer rights.
There are several complaints about Candex on Reddit. Is your issue similar to this one?
'Customer wants me to invoice through Candex? Any experience with this?

Candex has poor feedback on TrustPilot, especially about refunds

Are you in UK? Is this a business or consumer transaction?

Not sure what Candex is OP, is this a marketplace?
What did you buy and who did you buy it from?
Any reason not to share details with Candex, if they are a marketplace isn't that part of the service, you don't have to share details with the buyer/seller and Candex (who are presumably more trustworthy) handle the data?In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces1 -

Candex seem to be a payment co that work with many large companies to process their payment, like other payment co's they are fully compliant.

I am not sure whether it is a refund or goodwill. I prefer not to share my details if I can help it.0

You don't seem to answer many questions asked.Who is offering the refund/goodwill - the retailer or the manufacturer?1
