I've had a payment paid referring to '25togo' into my bank account, crazy thing is it references my wife's name against it. My wife hasn't sent me anything, nothing has come from her accounts she's checked.
I can't find anything about this 25togo apart from something to do with a type of handbag, a mystery.

They look from my search to be a company that sells random lifestyle and decoration stuff, without much established presence. Has she bought anything from Temu or Amazon and just not noted who the seller was? (Easily done, no criticism!)0

As above it's into my account referencing my wife's name. I do transfer money to her and she to me but we know about every transaction and it always shows up as a cash transfer.
Anyways the plot thickens, I had a similar payment in May after searching, now this one today.
There isn't anything set up between us like a standing order to pay a regular payment.
One payment today is +£20 the other was +£28.
Someone has paid me £48 that I haven't a clue about. I never spotted the May payment until now and I'm usually very keen on checking that sort of stuff.0 -

I gave my bank a call this morning, all they could tell me is the sort code connected with the payment is an Halifax one. I don't recognise it as being my previous Halifax account SC my wife doesn't either and she's got a current account with them but she's never sent me any money from it, ever.
Certainly a mystery, my bank advised ringing Halifax for them to explain it but obviously my wife will need to speak with them. Can't be a**** ATM we are off preparing for our holidays.0 -

Maybe an in-app purchase like tiktok that you set up household account for both of you for?
Or is it definitely the company 25togo, and not a reference the company is using? There's a transport and logistics company called togo, would she have used a service from them but it was originally registered to your card details?0 -
Absolutely nothing as above, it's a mystery, she hasn't got anything set up in my name to buy, sell, invest etc
I'll get her to ring Halifax as and when to see if they can shed some light on it.0 -
Are the 25togo and your wife's name both in the reference field?
You don't have a sumup or similar card payment device?0 -
Mystery solved, it was a family member.
i found out today, same initial and surname as my wife (daughter in law) she should have paid her sister but hit the wrong payee on her bank and paid me, money returned.😁12 -
It's a credit, so nothing to worry about. Just put it on one side, in case it was paid in error & they want to claim it back. Just do not do that yourself, they will have to go via the banking systems.Life in the slow lane0
