Any Strawberry Advice?
Options
I have strawberry plant (not sure of variety) in a hanging basket.
Before getting too big they are just going mushy and out of shape, Is there a way to protect them from whatever is happening. Not sure what bugs go after strawberry's but I saved my cherries this year using small anti-bug nets stopping the stink bugs from getting at them. Unfortunately the net bags have not saved any strawberries so far.
Any body had any luck with strawberries and if so what can I try?

Not really without knowing the variety because if they are alpine strawberries for example, they’re never going to get big and you might simply be leaving them for too long. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

First to look at is watering. Is it too wet?
Is it not wet right through, air pockets or dry in places.
What sort of compost?
Are you feeding it?
What other plants are in there? Some that strawberries don't like.

I have a variety called Sophie and I do very little, I dont put straw over them in winter or any real care other than
a handful of chicken pellets around the area during the winter and some liquid tomato feed when they are starting to fruit.
Put them in baskets, bags, pots and in the ground and just let it fend for itself mostly.
Had a couple in tubs that look like they have been roasted add a bit of water in the late evening and they are green
again the next day. I put the runners into small pots of compost for fresh plants next year or give them away.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
