I am not a high risk... Driving for 10 years, 7 years ncb..I think my details have been flagged in the system somewhere now and it's making me look high risk.... No way should I be getting quotes of £1800 for a modest none sporty car...Is there any way to see if I am being flagged up in the system? It would not surprise me if I am being red flagged here, there are 19 year old boy racers in Golf R paying much less!0

All that happens is they cancel the policy on the old one and re-calculate for the new one, starting a new policy. The premium would still go up.You can't buy a 1L Rover and start your policy, then ask to switch it to your new Bugatti Veyron and expect to pay the same sort of price1

I was direct line for years, spread over several cars.
One year the renewal went from £250 to almost £400, got quotes around £250 and they dropped the price to match
but the following year they wanted just over £400 and would not reduce the price.
Got a quote the following year at £600 where I paid under £300, the year after they quoted £900.
Online comparison sites were still around the £300 mark. I gave up getting quotes from them they obviously do not
want me as a customer.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
That’s honestly ridiculous — with your driving history and no claims, those quotes make no sense. It’s frustrating how insurers can shift pricing so wildly even when nothing major has changed. Sometimes switching vehicles multiple times in a short period can trigger odd rating flags in their system.
Just a quick tip — make sure your current vehicle is correctly listed as insured on the Motor Insurance Database. If there’s a mismatch or delay, it might affect quotes. You can look it up easily — just Google “askMID insurance checker”. I used a site called askmidinsurance.org recently and it helped clear up an issue I had.
Hope you find a better quote soon — £3k is outrageous!
