Will merely be an internal business decision, you probably dont make them any money. And also you could have theory have chosen to cancel all your cards with them without having to provide a reason.0

By the sound of things, there is something about your profile that resembles the profile of someone who might be engaged in illegal activities. They don't have the resources to investigate but wish to avoid risk to themselves.
When this happens, bank accounts are often frozen, with the victim having to wait months before their own money is returned to them. You are relatively fortunate in that they are not holding on to any of your money and they have given you notice so that you can make alternative arrangements.0 -

thank you for your comments , yes with my credit cards they have given me 2 months notice however with my merchant number and taking amex cards this was stooped immediately, i am making other arrangements , and i have seaked legal advise and my lawyer has advised me that on a compliance check and there is a person with the same name as me that has been charged for fraud in 2023 and its not me they also have a different dob , however amex dont seem to want to know it seems that they have made their mind up and they dont want to change their decision, i just dont like to give up especially when im not guilty, also checked my credit rating with Experian and its all ok im very upset0

You might find this conversation on HfP interesting, someone with a bunch of accounts went through the same thing.

@kirschy did you by any chance made a transaction using one of your card on your merchant account?0

Ultimately whether its a fraud/regulatory concern, or just a business decision on unprofitable accounts, they still have the right to terminate and unfortunately you may never know which.
Can you still access / transfer your Amex points? Would be particularly painful if not.0
