Help needed please - Parking Ticket N1SDT

Options
I'm not sure if I have a valid reason to challenge the parking charge in court as it is now at £313.  I was not the driver but I have taken on the roll of trying to defend this charge as my company is the owner/keeper of the vehicle. The driver was my employee but a few weeks after the alleged offence he had a personal tragic incident and I did not want to burden him with the stress of defending himself. Briefly the problem is that although he purchased a parking ticket, he entered a wrong digit as the keypad was badly worn, sticking and faulty.  I have tried to call various times to the relevant collection agency but there is no direct contact by phone unless I am prepared to pay the fine in full.  I have also replied to DCB legal via their website to explain the circumstances and to say we have photographic evidence of the worn keypad and the ticket purchased which shows the time of entry to the car park.  After telling them this they immediately issued an N1SDT.  The vehicle is registered to my Ltd company but on all correspondence they have missed off the Ltd part in the company name. Will this have any bearing on my case?  Just for now I have acknowledged the N1SDT with an intention of defending it.  I have only got 9 days left to file my defense and was hoping someone on this forum may be able to offer me some advice.  I am happy to go to court but I'm worried about a CCJ should I lose my case. Thanks in advance for any advice offered.

    Welcome!

Your company can't get a CCJ by following our advice, not even if you went to a hearing and lost. Relax!

Show us the claim form, covering the same FOUR things that you see on all the other DCB Legal claim threads next to yours right now.  Read a few if you are unsure what we need to see and what to cover.

Very very simple to defend and most DCB cases are dropped before hearings.  No risk.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Thank you for your quick reply. I have the document with the 4 areas blanked out but I'm not sure how-to upload.

I have no idea how they got a £100 single pcn to a figure of £313.40.  Disgraceful accounting  !

Use the latest template defence by coupon mad,  top of the forum, adapt it accordingly

Your submission deadline is 4pm on Monday 21st July

Hi Im confused as to where the updated 8 step defence template can be found. If you can possibly give me a link please.  I have looked at the top of the forum and clicked some of the links but unsure where to find the correct one.  Many thanks

I'm afraid that we dont link forum announcements

Go to the top of this Parking forum and it's the top thread at the moment,  so several threads above this thread of yours. It's headed TEMPLATE DEFENCE TO ADAPT

Ok thank you....does it start with 1. The Claimant's sparse case..... ?

Also do I copy and paste just the first 8 paragraphs obviously editing to suit my case?

Sorry for all the questions but Ive spent days reading the forum and trying to find the correct defence template and I wasnt sure that was the updated one.

That's correct,  adapt that one,  although you might prefer to email it at the moment due to the subsequent feedback in that thread about MCOL
