Euro Car Parks, DCB Legal LTD, Court CLaim 2025

I'm hoping someone can help or offer advice because I'm feeling quite overwhelmed right now. I've just received a court claim from Euro Car Parks regarding a private parking ticket that dates back over two years ago. I really need guidance on how to prepare a defence for this.
Here are the key details:
-
The parking charge notice (PCN) relates to an overstay in a car park attached to the gym I’m a paying member of.
-
I believe I overstayed by around 12 hours on that occasion. I parked in the gym's car park, which I had assumed was free or included as part of my gym membership.
-
I don’t recall receiving any reminder letters from Euro Car Parks at the time or shortly after the alleged incident. This court claim has come out of the blue after all this time.
-
The claim is now for over £200, which includes added fees and legal costs.
-
I want to understand if I have any grounds to challenge this, or if it’s too late now because of the time that has passed.
-
I’ve read a little bit about these private parking companies and that they sometimes rely on people not responding, but I don’t want to make any mistakes by ignoring it or submitting the wrong defence.
Has anyone here successfully challenged something similar? What should I include in my defence, and are there any templates or examples I could refer to?
Any advice would be massively appreciated, especially from those who’ve been through this or understand the legal process. Thank you in advance!

Definitely NOT a summons, just a standard MCOL claim form
Post the Issue date from the top right of the claim form below
Post a redacted picture of the lower half of the claim form below after hiding the VRM details first in the POC on the left, and also hide the password details on the right ( make a note of the password for logging in later on )
The new template defence will be available this weekend, so use it
Meanwhile, there are around 608 discontinuations in the thread by Umkomaas, so plenty of recent examples to study, nothing new, just same old, same old, same as everyone else with a similar roboclaim3 -
It's not a 'summons' and everyone (hundreds of posters in 2025 alone) with a single PCN claim from DCB Legal, have easily beaten it.
No hearing, no costs, nowt scary. No sweat.
See the NEWBIES FAQS thread second post.
We won't link the thread because you already have a choice of 2 links on this page. See my signature below:PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Issue date 8th July, so dont complete the AOS online until early next week
Your claim reference number is visible on that picture, so it needs deleting , I asked you for the Issue date, not an unredacted picture1 -
Okay my bad, i have just started the AOS now as i am eager to get this sorted asap. is there anything else i need to note before i proceed?0
-
You should wait until early next week, like I mentioned, no point in asking for advice if you don't follow it, because the service date is 5 days after the 8th, namely the 13th, so Monday is the 14th, to be sure
Your case will last for several months, it wont be sorted anytime soon, even the new template defence isn't ready yet !1 -
You can edit and remove that first image now.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

After some initial research it seems as if the only ground of defense I have are the general template ones given and possibly that I use the gym and services around the car park. Considering I have ignored everything up until this point do you think I will have much of a chance in a hearing of getting this ruled in my favour ?0

Eh?
Did you miss the advice above?

Hey guys, I am just about to start my defence after seeing the new template has been posted.
One thing before i start, I completed the AOS on the 10th of July as i didnt see your message in time , other than reducing the amount of time i have to complete my defence, does it affect anything else?
