I'm new to fitted carpet until I had to have some fitted last week.
I sent the attached photo to the company and at first they expressed that there were 'shadows' on it, although when I mentioned wrinkles they have offered to send their fitter back to 're-stretch' the carpet after it has 'acclimatised' over the weekend.
Is this just normal when having new carpet?

I thought that was old carpet that had been re-laid.
Never had to get carpet re-stretched. That looks poor to me.

If it has been rolled up shading in one direction is not unusual. Carpet rolls are laid on top of each other for transportation and it flattens the weave.
Our current carpet had 'furrow' lines when laid, but they soon disappeared.1 -
Are the shadows because the pine is lying in a different direction?
This can also happen from footsteps or vacuum marks when it is a fine pile.1 -

They can be hard , then soften a bit in a warm room1 -
Hi donglefan.Yes, there appears to be lots of wrinkles in that carpet. I understand some may disappear naturally in use, but I wouldn't rely on that. So, in the first instance, I'd allow them to come back and restretch. Please let us know how you get on.1
