Lloyds and Halifax Payments and Card Being Blocked

Hi

I have a Halifax Credit Card that I use for everyday spending, and I pay off the balance every month.

This is not the first time that I have had problems with a payment being blocked to a genuine UK company (In this case to pay the balance on a holiday), on the grounds that it is a suspicious transaction as it is outside my normal spending patterns.

When they block the payment, they also block my Credit Card, but they do not contact me to tell me that there is a problem, leaving me to be embarrassed when I present the card.

This happens with both Lloyds and Halifax.

I do not think this is reasonable.

Does anyone know of a card that will actually let me pay?

I have had no problems at home and abroad with Santander Edge

Any transactions they are 'suspicious' about they ask you to authorise via the app

Are you sure they have your correct email & mobile number as the only time I had a problem with a payment on my Halifax account they contacted me, which I assumed was a scam & rang them on a confirmed number.

Fraud checks work on known fraudster patterns.
