Driver is deceased

I'm just reading all of the information provided in the newbie section. At the moment we're just dealing with dcb Ltd and on the final reminder. It's the usual did not receive any notices. The owner of the car is 82 years old and I will be dealing with this from now on. My question what are your thoughts on saying that the driver is now dead or should I still go down the path of not knowing who the driver was. The owner's brother was driving the car at the time. The offence took place in 2020 and the owner did write to CST Law (his first and only contact) back in 2021 stating this but sent the letter was by post and I believe no acknowledgement was received. Thanks for your help

Fair enough, you werent clear, thought you were planning an elaborate lie!
In which case sure go ahead, they cant prove he wasnt the driver.0 -
No this time it's true, but good idea! Thanks for confirming I'll get on the case.0

sorry to hear about the death.
remember this is not a fine or a penalty.
Do you know where the car park in question is?
can you provide a map link, address etc? From the Plain Language Commission:

just send a copy of the Death Cert, job done3

Agree. I had to deal with this scenario recently. I phoned DCBL, made sure i spoke to someone. I was advised to scan and send a copy of the death certificate. I got an email very soon afterwards to say that there would be no further action.3

Hopefully they would close the file on this but should they persist (general incompetence?) it doesn't really matter because a CCJ doesn't effect someone who is dead and it can't be changed to you or anyone else.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
