103 minutes at 90 minutes limit McDonald's Parking Lot

Options
Good morning.
We parked at Wembley McDonald's a few days ago and received a PCN saying we parked for 103 minutes which is 13 minutes over the 90 minutes limit.

We are thinking to appeal on below ground:
We traveled with 2 small children so we needed more time to find a spot where there's enough space on both sides of the vehicle for us to take the babies out.
Then when we wanted to leave, there's a big van parked next to us so we had to wait for them to move before we can put the children back into the car.
It was also a busy time at 5pm when students are off from school, so took us even more time to find a suitable spot after entering the car park.

I am thinking we need to focus on the grace period as we only stayed for 13 minutes over the limit. And our experience inside the restaurant probably won't be useful for the appeal anyway? Hope to hear some advice, thanks a lot!

Doomed to fail if that is your appeal to MET,  it just confirms that there was an overstay,  a confession,  excuses wont succeed in these cases,  just the opposite

Plan A in the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum by coupon is your best option,  getting the business or landlord to cancel based on being legitimate customers

The driver should have extended their stay by telling the staff on the day

Unfortunately you are assuming that Parking companies are reasonable people that will read your appeal in a balanced way, they won't, and the appeals system is a sham, they want money and nothing else.

Either way, don't pay and come back here if you receive a Letter Before Action from a bulk litigator.

    MET or UKPC?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
