Computer screen frozen/on the blink in Ford Galaxy, likely fix?

We've just paid £1.6k to get our 16 plate Galaxy through its MOT but the garage can't do anything about the frozen screen.
We can't change media source/control heating/answer calls as the screen is 'frozen' - it does respond if you touch it but only into the temperature screen where it then doesn't respond.
Luckily there are manual ways around most of this, but garage wasn't sure if we'd need a whole new unit, or just the software sorting, both at a dealer.
There is a significant difference in price. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks

Have you looked on the Ford website about a master reset?

Just to add, I've got a Peugeot and the Peugeot garage told me they'd charge about £70 to do a software update on my 18 plate 2008, or I could just do it myself with a usb stick (download from website, stick in USB socket). I did it myself. No idea if Ford is the same. I did have to sit in the car with the engine running for about an hour.0

Find a Ford forum & ask on there. Should be something users of the brand will know how to sort.Life in the slow lane0
