Gosh, TA, that sounds painfully. Take it easy, you must be well shaken.
Rosy, hope all goes well for OH.8 -
Hi everyone,
I too lost a long post yesterday, grr.
We came up to Yorkshire last night, we stopped at a pub for a quick bite to eat, or so we thought. We got there at seven and just ordered a main course expecting to be away by eight. Steve's meal arrived at 8.15 and he had finished it before mine arrived. The food was very good but not the disorganised service. We didn't get here till nearly midnight.
I hope I haven't told you this before. At the end of May our cleaner rang to say that the house had been left in a terrible state so Steve had to leave our own holiday in Pembrokeshire to sort it out. We'd had a last minute booking, purporting to be a normal family holiday, it turned out to be a teenager in care and different carers. They gave him some bad news in the living room and he proceeded to destroy the television, sound bar and television stand. He also knocked into a display cupboard and broke a couple of items in that. Steve found that all the sharp knives had been removed from the property and it took several phone calls to get them back which is when he was told what had gone on. He managed to sort everything out before the next guests were due and the care company reimbursed us but it's left a nasty taste. Ironically if they'd told the truth we'd probably have let them have the booking.
TA I hope you're ok and don't have too many after effects.
Have a good day.11 -
Morning All
TA take care and be kind to yourself today (hugs) xx
Rosy hope DH ops goes well x
Lovely visit from DB and DSIL and their little dog yesterday. We had a BBQ with fresh meat from our local butcher which was gorgeous.
Today we are going to a spa , a birthday gift. It is years since I have been to a spa. Booked in for a massage, wish me luck !!
Hope everyone has a good day hugs to all who want them.

Mehefin, did I read it right that it would have been your 45th anniversary on Sunday, you slipped it in quite subtly. If it was I hope you had more happy memories than sad.10

Morning all from another human and thanks @Gers for today's start. Quite a bit of high cloud around this morning but we should have some sunny intervals with a moderate breeze, albeit with a slight chance of a shower around lunchtime, and top temperatures of 23 deg.
Books returned to the Little Free Library (none borrowed) yesterday, daily housework done and a bit more of the current cross stitch completed. This one's a bit more ambitious than I normally do and quite hard on the eyes so it's slow going but will have to be abandoned for a little while as I'm doing a "Welcome Baby" card one for my hairdresser that needs to be ready for the end of the month.
Today's pre-grocery delivery email tells me I'll be getting everything I ordered; I'm prepared with my crates for transferring the goodies from their crates and the fridge/freezer has been tidied in readiness. There's a couple of hand-knits to wash, the bedding needs changing and I've still got a phone call to make due to the fact that yesterday I gave up as the estimated wait time to speak to an agent was over an hour! Not made any less frustrating to be advised I might find my answer online. No, I've already looked there. At times like this it reinforces my thought there's a conspiracy to get everyone to do everything online!
@remmie - Hope you're feeling a little better today, maybe stay close to home for now.
@Rosy - Best wishes to Mr Rosy for a successful op today.
@TA - Sorry to hear you had a tumble - take it easy today and stay away from the banking!
@dp1 - Glad you've got your drain sorted out; hopefully the electrician can work his magic on the kitchen fan - that must be so annoying.
@NRA - Happy spa day!
That's today's waffle so I'll wish everyone a good day - preferably without any dramasTake care. X
Be kind to others and to yourself too.12 -
Morning all
Bright and sunny day here, first lot of washing is just finishing so will hang that out shortly and another to go in, it should all dry well today.
Remmie yes it was Bognor Butlins, how funny that your Dd met her DH there! It was a really lovely day we spent the morning swimming in the various pools and rapids etc, one of my people really supervised me by goimg at everything with full force, he is 60 and normally very quiet and keeps himself to himself, he loved it and went on the rapids several times and was the only one who wanted to go down the extreme slide in a rubber dingy with me 😂😂 it was great fun, we then had lunch and spent the afternoon on the fairground rides, it really was a lovely day and we will go again Im sure.
I have a phone call this morning re a job which I really like the sound of, and I heard yesterday that I was successful in the interview on Monday so things are coming together.
Im not sure what’s for dinner I need to check the freezer after this.
Taff ouch to your poor OH hope he feels better soon xx
TA poor you - thank goodness you were able to get yourself back up, hope you are not too sore xx
Rosy hope all gone smoothly for your DH today xx
Have good days all and take care xx11 -
TA I hope you are taking it easy today I bet if you had tried to roll down that hill you couldn’t have feet up . Rosy I hope your DH knee operation goes smoothly my hubby has had two new knees in the last 3 years he said it’s the best thing he has ever done he’s pain free now and on the golf course he could hardly walk around the block before.8

Just a brief pop in to say to @Ruby that your day sounds really lovely - all your people had a great time, and you did do! And congratulations on the new job, or is it two jobs? Anyway, well done.@Snoozer - great to hear that you have been reimbursed for the costs. Yes, you did tell us earlier this year so it was good to hear the result.I've been out for breakfast, poached eggs and toast, emptied my recycling bag and dropped into the local museum to buy the guide book to the area. I've bought and given away this book at least four times, it's about time I kept my own copy. The rain is now heavy drizzle, that horrible stuff, so I'm not going out again.8

Good evening from Mehefinland
@snoozer well spotted! yes it would have been our 45th on Saturday last. It only seems 5 minutes sometimes!!
Still plodding on with council stuff today -new clerk wants me to do a sanity check on the minutes, and a few other bits and bobs. Think she is worried that she may get things wrong. It does get a bit hectic during a meeting so I quite understand, and I'm happy to help her whilst she gets her feet under the table.
Been a lovely day here. Horsebox went in for its MOT and failed, which I was expecting. needs welding doing, and when it is all sorted I think it is going to be sold. Can not see me ever using it now, and it is a waste just sitting there. Just need someone to ride the boy now as he is getting decidedly portly. Probably split the field in two to restrict the grass for a bit.
Off to sit in the garden for a bit
Hugs and spoons as always
