Hi,
I tried to apply online and was flatly denied, no reason given. After many calls to nationwide the only thing I can find out is that it is related to an application refusal code rd24. The person I spoke to said he thought it was a credit check issue, although not clear if it was me or other applicant (my wife) who had the issue.
as far as we know we have good credit, mortgage and credit cards paid off every month, no debt etc.
can anyone shed light on the code?thanks

Will be a internal code, so unless a nationwide employee is prepared to post about it on a public forum, odds on you will never know.
As they do not have to give a reason for a decline.
Perhaps best to have a look at your credit files ( not score) & see if anything is amiss on them.Life in the slow lane0 -

If not, the first thing I'd do is be downloading the Experian/Credit Karma/ClearScore app (all 3) and checking my credit report to see if there's anything untoward, e.g. a default you had no idea about, a CIFAS marker, etc.
If your credit reports are all squeaky clean then eventually - 'beats me'. As others have said, their commercial criteria is sensitive and they're under no obligation to tell you (unless an ex-nationwide forum-member feels like divulging internal information...).Know what you don't0 -

My best guess is that one or possibly both applicants do not qualify for the product applied for.
99% this will be to do with credit files.
