Smart parking with a bit of a twist

Good afternoon,
Just looking for a bit advice, the company I work for which will remain nameless hire quite a few parking spots for us all in a council car park that's split between Emerson the management company and the council. I accidentally parked in the wrong bay which is a contract bay that's not been used for a long time yesterday, I've come back to a smart parking ticket and wondered if there's anything I can do..ive not contacted them as of yet as I wanted advice.
I made a mistake by parking on the wrong floor about 2 years ago and went through Emerson and pleaded I was new and they managed to get it rescinded for me..think it's worth trying this again or because smart parking is involved they won't help?
Any advice greatly appreciated, recently had a heart attack and I'm already down in cash from that so could have done without this!

Ideally get the landlord or landowner to cancel the pcn , so Emerson if that is them
Do not tell Smart Parking who was driving , so no appeal yet
Study the newbies sticky thread in announcements near the top of the forum by coupon mad too

Appeal as keeper on day 26 (NO IMPLYING WHO WAS DRIVING) as I doubt Smart Parking are clever enough to have a POFA para 8 NTK ready to send. Let's see.
You could even give the kangaroo court of the IAS a whirlPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
