Citizens advice aren't always correct, you could try the B&Q CEO contact on the CEO email website if you wish to push a little further.LearningToBePassive said:I followed up with B&Q and they pushed back. I then asked Citizens Advice who told me that by implicitly agreeing to the B&Q terms and conditions when I bought the gift voucher, these take precedence. I've learnt my lesson. Thanks for your advice here.In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
I know you mistakenly referred to the Distance Selling Regulations in your OP, but as I said in my post of 8th July, so long as you clearly informed B&Q within 14 days of receiving the goods that you were cancelling the contract*, then under para 34(7) of The Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 they should be refunding you using the same means of payment as you originally paid for the purchase.LearningToBePassive said:I followed up with B&Q and they pushed back. I'm not convinced that CAB are right when they say you are bound by the conditions of the gift voucher.(?)
Who bought the gift voucher? Was it given to you as a gift or did you buy it yourself?
*If you didn't specifically tell them you were cancelling the contract, then you probably have to accept what B&Q tell you0
