My sky sports has just gone up again to £59.50 p.m with £32 of that paying for a compulsory channel i never watch. I do record programmes on the sky recorder but i think i could live without it.
So the current Now tv offer of £26 per month for 6 months for sky sports seems very appealing but I'm wondering if the ads are very intrusive during live matches? Do the ads obscure the action in any way or is it just an irritation on part of the screen while still being able to watch the live sport?

  • The adverts for live broadcasts are exactly the same as on Sky HD/Q/Stream, the boost add on that removes ads only applies to on demand content and has no effect on live channels, but bear in mind the boost is also required for HD or ultra boost for UHD.

£17.99 for 6 months sport was the best they offered me, was on £19.99 a month cancel anytime contract - didn't take the £17.99 as will not tie in for 6 months (unless they include Boost) had a couple of months left on cancel anytime Boost at £2 a month but would never pay £6 for it.

You can usually get the £20 a month offer for sports on Sky's Now TV fairly routinely. It adds about £20 a month on my Virgin Package. £59 a month is taking the mick. Have you tried cancelling with Sky?

Thanks for the replies! I got back on to sky yesterday afternoon and talked to someone a lot more reasonable. I told them i wanted to cancel everything i had with them and had had enough. After a very brief chat my sky tv was reduced to £46 per month, my broadband became £20.50 per month (previously £32 with Now broadband!) and anytime calls became totally free when i was told by the other sky operator that it would be £17 extra. Altogether its a reduction of £19 per month for two years compared to my previous costs and theyve also waived the fee for broadband for the first month!
